To induct the newcomers into the quintessential culture and ethos of the institution, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, hosted an infotainment extravaganza- Induction 2024. Punjabi film actor Mr. Binu Dhillon was the star attraction for the day. Dr. Gurdip Sharma, General Secretary, SD Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Giving a warm welcome to the newcomers, Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava said that the college is proud to be carrying forward Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji’s vision and Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan’s legacy. She added that the college is working incessantly for ensuring students’ holistic development and character building. Dr. Bhargava, sharing her valuable words of advice, urged the newcomers to live up to the vision of the institution, follow the rules and regulations, have clarity of goals and to stay away from distractions. She ended her address on a motivational note with lines from her self-composed poem reiterating the power of positivity and belief in one’s dreams. The Deans and Conveners of various Committees and Clubs of the college were introduced on this occasion. A skit with a touch of humour introducing the freshers to the college rules, melodious song performances and dance performances won the hearts of all the viewers. Singer Mr. Kushagra Thakur thrilled the audience with his electric performance. Ms. Fresher Contest was the highlight of the event wherein the newcomers walked down the ramp, vying for the coveted title. After various rounds, the shortlisted finalists went on to the question-answer round wherein the beauties with brains answered the questions in an immaculate and poised manner, showcasing their eloquence and confidence.
