Ludhiana, May 15 (Harbans Singh)

Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Loksabha candidate for Ludhiana, today paid homage to Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar at his memorial in Ludhiana. Speaking at the event, Warring emphasized the invaluable sacrifice of Sukhdev Thapar, calling him a “beacon of inspiration” for the youth of the nation. “It’s a message to the youth to never forget these martyrs and their supreme sacrifices for our freedom,” he remarked.

Warring expressed deep regret that successive governments have not done enough to support the families of these martyrs and freedom fighters. He pointed out a troubling issue, saying, “It is deeply saddening that the family of Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar has to bear the cost of their electricity bills, a responsibility that should be borne by the government.”

Reflecting on his visit, Warring said, “This place instills immense energy and awe for the iron-willed revolutionaries who once stood here. I feel deeply inspired to dedicate myself to the welfare of Punjabis.”

He pledged that, under Congress’s future administration, the party would support the memorial according to the needs expressed by its managing trust. Warring also appealed to the youth of India to be ever ready to sacrifice for the welfare of the people, emphasizing that martyrs like Sukhdev Thapar will be remembered for eternity.
