Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today appealed to people of Ludhiana to ensure that they do not forego their precious right to vote.
In an appeal to the people, Warring said, “the right to vote is too precious to forego and let us not take it for granted”. He said, thanks to the democracy in the country, the people of India have a right to choose their rulers, a right not many people in many countries still do not have.
The PCC president urged people not to get deterred by the excessive heat of summer. “Please do come out of your homes and cast your vote, it is a matter of just a few minutes”, he appealed to people, telling them, “your vote will strengthen democracy and the constitution”.
“Elections are like the festivals in a democracy in which each one of us must participate”, he observed, while adding, “there is no reason for anyone not to be part of this process to choose his/her own government”.
“You are not just pressing a button, you are participating in the process of choosing the future and the destiny of the nation and ensuring that you don’t give up your right to participate and right to vote”, he said in a passionate appeal to people to be part of the electoral democracy.
