The India Alliance released its Chandigarh-specific election manifesto, promising 20,000 liters of free water and 300 units of free electricity per woman to all households with a monthly income of up to Rs.20,000.
While releasing the election manifesto today at Chandigarh Congress office Sector 15, senior party leader and alliance candidate Manish Tiwari, Chandigarh AAP co-in-charge S.S. Ahluwalia, Prem Garg and other senior leaders said that the real character of the party is the city. Will be protected at all costs.
On this occasion the manifesto promises to give ownership rights to all eligible residents of housing units in resettlement colonies, including tenement sites and GPA housing schemes.
While Lal Dore will be extended to villages and construction beyond Lal Dore will be regulated. It has been said in the manifesto that changes in housing board flats based on need will be regulated on the Delhi pattern. Along with this, all categories of leasehold properties across the city have been promised to be converted into freehold.
The coalition has promised to enact a law to allow share-wise/floor-wise transfer of property.
Apart from this, it has been promised to regularize the contractual employees and fill up all government vacancies and no new tax will be levied.
He said that the Union Territory of Chandigarh's status as a clean and organized urban center in the last ten years has been lost, where people used to enjoy the luxurious high standard of living in the country. On which he assured that it will be restored on priority basis.
The India Alliance candidate said that the relevant provisions of Schedule 10 of the Constitution would be amended to implement the provisions of the anti-defection law on municipal bodies. Similarly, Resident Welfare Associations, NGOs and other prominent voluntary people will strengthen the democratic structure in the city in the decision-making process and administration.
