The Chief Electoral Officer said that the Election Commission of India strictly prohibits the carrying of mobile phones or any other such devices inside the polling booths on election day.
On this occasion, he said that flex boards and hoardings can be installed only at designated places after the approval of the District Election Officers or the Chief Election Officer until implementation of the ideal electoral system in the state.
He said that no political party or candidate can ask for votes in the name of religion, as it is a violation of the ideal election code. He appealed to the people to report such violations immediately through the C-Vigil app and assured that action would be taken by the concerned office against the violators within 100 minutes.
Following the instructions of the commission, special attention has been given to the deployment of women staff at the polling booths located near their homes this time.
The Chief Electoral Officer made it clear that no government employee can campaign for political parties and if any such case comes to light, action will be taken against the violators. FIR Strict action will be taken by registering
Sibin C said that special arrangements have been made at the polling stations for relief from heat so that no voter is deprived of his right to vote due to heat. He said that water coolers, fans, adequate seating and sheds have been arranged at the polling stations so that the voters do not face any problem.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that there are a total of 2.14 crore registered voters in the state, including 1.89 lakh voters above the age of 85 years, 1,614 NRIs, 1.58 lakh differently-abled voters and 5.38 lakh new voters, which are 24,451 across the state on June 1. They will cast their vote at the polling stations.
