Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the brutal, barbaric and murderous attack on Shiv Sena Punjab leader Sandeep Thapar ‘Gora’ in broad daylight in full public view, near the Civil Hospital, here today.
While praying for speedy recovery of Thapar, Warring called for immediate arrest of the culprits who attacked him with swords in full public view.
The PCC President observed that there was an atmosphere for fear prevailing in the city due to complete lawlessness. He said, the criminals do not have any fear of law, while pointing out how his personal security guard moved aside while he was being brutally attacked.
He demanded that the culprits must be firmly dealt with according to the law and hoped that the police arrests them at the earliest. “We cannot see our city turning into lawless anarchy”, he remarked, while adding that the visuals of the attack in full public view have created fear and panic among people.
Warring also appealed to people to observe peace and harmony. He said, such barbaric and inhuman acts cannot and must not be condoned and the culprits must be punished strictly according to the law.
