Member of Parliament from Chandigarh and former Union Minister Manish Tewari attended the wrestling (Dangal) organized by the Chhinj Committee in Manimajra as the chief guest, where he praised the impressive performances of the participating wrestlers. Addressing the gathering, MP Tewari said that sports infuse new energy into our lives and prepare us to face future challenges. He was accompanied by H.S. Lucky, President of the Chandigarh Congress, who attended the event as the special guest.
In his address, MP Tewari congratulated the organizing committee for hosting such a grand event and highlighted the importance of sports in building a strong and disciplined society. He appreciated the talent and dedication shown by the wrestlers and announced a grant of ₹10 lakh from his MPLAD Fund for the development of the local stadium. He also assured the residents that he would take appropriate steps to resolve other issues affecting the area.
Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky also lauded the efforts of the organizers for promoting sporting talent and said that such initiatives inspire youth to move forward in a positive direction. He reiterated the Congress Party’s commitment to promoting sports, culture, and youth empowerment.
Earlier, Committee President Avtar Singh Dhillon, District Congress President and Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Director Surjit Dhillon, and other committee members honored MP Manish Tewari and H.S. Lucky with mementos. Both leaders expressed their gratitude for the warm gesture.
