The Congress candidate from Gidderbaha assembly segment Amrita Warring today blasted the opportunistic turncoat candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party questioning their audacity to find faults in her candidature.
She also took a dig at the Akalis, saying that they not only backed out of the elections, but have run away like fugitives out of a guilty conscience.
Amrita Warring, the wife of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, has been unwavering in her dedication to Gidderbaha and its people, a commitment she underscored throughout her campaign visits across Samagh, Sukhna Ablu, Lohara, Bhalaiana, Bharu, and Gidderbaha City. Amrita Warring emphasized the deep-rooted trust her family shares with the party and the people of Gidderbaha.
Responding to criticism from opponents who question her candidacy, Amrita Warring remarked, “They have the audacity to question our commitment, yet they’ve deserted their parties and defected for personal gain, leaving their supporters high and dry”.
“We have never abandoned our principles or the people of Gidderbaha – we stood by them during the Panchayat elections, and we continue to do so always and forever”, she added.
Amrita Warring took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party, accusing it of making false promises and withholding funds essential for Gidderbaha’s development. “Over the last two and a half years, we have repeatedly asked the AAP-led state government for funding to support Gidderbaha, but not a single rupee has been provided,” she remarked. “They have promised benefits like Rs. 1,000 for every woman, pension increments, and electricity subsidies, only to withdraw the very subsidies initiated by Congress. Gidderbaha’s people won’t be fooled by empty promises,” Amrita Warring asserted. She voiced frustration over AAP’s tendency to claim credit for Congress’s achievements, branding it as yet another attempt to mislead Punjab.
In contrast, Amrita Warring stressed her and her family’s enduring service to Gidderbaha beyond party lines. “During the Panchayat election protests, we fought not for a party but for Gidderbaha’s citizens, regardless of their political affiliations,” she said.
“As the voice of Gidderbaha for the last 13 years, I am ready to continue this journey. The people and I are one big family, and we will work hand in hand to ensure progress, honour, and integrity in our constituency,” she concluded.
