Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today criticized the Rajya Sabha MPs of the Aam Aadmi Party from Punjab for leaving over 70 percent funds allocated to them under MP’s local area development (MPLAD) fund unutilized.
Quoting the details revealed in a newspaper report today, Warring noted that the seven RS MPs of the AAP from Punjab had left whopping seventy percent funds unutilized. “This shows either their callous indifference or ignorance about the availability and utility of these funds”, he observed.
“That is what happens when members to the Rajya Sabha are ‘chosen’ for other ‘considerations’ than their public/political service”, he said, while remarking, “this must be the rarest of the rare cases in the country that an entire ‘herd’ of the AAP Rajya Sabha MPs from Punjab has left over 70 percent funds allocated to them under MPLAD fund, unutilized”.
Warring said, the description carried out by a newspaper today is self-explanatory as how the MPs have sat over the funds, which could have been utilized by them for the state’s development. “Serving Punjab was never a priority for the AAP”, he noted, adding, “AAP is no joke. It is Punjab’s tragedy, unfolding with every passing day, revelation after revelation”.
